The Courtney Group, LLC is an investment banking firm with a focus on capital raising, sales of businesses, acquisitions of businesses and joint venture negotiations. We specialize in the consumer, chemical, financial services, healthcare, distribution, manufacturing, and technology sectors.

The Courtney Group, Incorporated makes private equity investments. We are different in our flexibility – we can make equity investments from $1 million to $100 million, and in our long time horizon – we can own a business for 20 to 30 years. We seek control and non-control equity investments in businesses with revenues of $10 million to $500 million and pre-tax earnings of $2 million to $50 million. We have invested in 18 companies since 1999. We often acquire businesses from sellers seeking to retire or entrepreneurs seeking a partner to help them reach the next level of success. Our goal is to be your trusted partners.

The Courtney Group team is comprised of partners and professionals with substantial operational experience. We are flexible how involved we are, and can provide a lot or a little support depending on a company's needs.


History

In 1995, The Courtney Group opened its doors with a vision that in a world of giant organizations with a broad array of services, there was a need for a small firm that offers the highest levels of professionalism and expertise, and senior-level attention to clients and relationships. In sum: we offer big firm expertise without the big firm or the conflicts that come with it.

In 1999, we expanded into private equity investing, raising an initial pool of $150 million in capital from a single investor. In 2003, the firm moved its headquarters from New York City to Newport Beach, California and expanded our investor base substantially.

Today, we have five senior professionals covering six industry sectors and relationships around the world with hundreds of investors, lenders, and clients.
